Jazz up Your Portfolio

I love exploring different ways of creating illustrations. My latest obsession is creating a textured, vintage look in Procreate using textured brushes, patterns and surfaces. At the start of the year I knew my portfolio needed some finished pieces to show potential clients and publishers. But I also knew that I wouldn’t create those pictures, on top of actual client work, without some form of incentive.

Set Yourself a Challenge

So I set myself an illustration challenge and it’s turning out to be really satisfying. Rather than rushing to create quick drawings for a daily or weekly challenge, I’ve been able to spend some time creating illustrations and really giving it some thought. I do them ahead of time and then schedule them to my socials.

Here’s the first six months. They’re posted on instagram and FB under #illustratespecialdays

New Books on the Way!

Earlier this year I was fortunate to sign with CSIRO to create a book about Wombat Poo! It’s a really fun project and I’m excited to see it all come together. There’s an array of different Australian animals featured. Here is a sneak peak of some of them. I’m looking forward to doing some school visits with this one.
